Last month marked Maserati’s 100th birthday. Ahead of the official rally to be held in Modena, at which 250 vehicles from all over the world are expected to participate, the extensive series of events to mark the centenary has got underway. The traditional Maserati values of sportiness, innovation and luxury will be celebrated in each market where the Trident has a presence.
A thirty-strong group gathered in Melbourne, Australia, on the weekend of 30 November-1 December, at the official Maserati dealership, Zagame. Some of the best-known models in the brand’s history turned out: the 1963 Quattroporte, the Ghibli, Khamsin and Mistral Spyder. Other esteemed Italian representatives came from Ferrari, Lamborghini and Alfa Romeo. The rally unfurled along the avenues of Australia’s ‘cultural capital’ before taking in the Western District, the evocative region in south-eastern Victoria.
The first ‘Down Under’ rally signalled the official opening of the celebrations that will continue to attract Australian Maserati enthusiasts. The next event will coincide with the Formula 1 Grand Prix weekend at Albert Park, Melbourne, on 13-16 March.
