Last weekend was the Phillip Island Classic Festival of Motor Sport. Phillip Island is a very picturesque race track about 2 hours from Melbourne and is also currently used for the Motorbike GP. The Phillip Island meeting is the premier historic racing event in the Southern Hemisphere and there were two fabulous examples of Maserati racing.
Andrew Cannon raced his 1956 150S and Paddins Dowling flew his 1939 4CL over from California for the event.
This car still has all its original panels and is stunning. Damian Cessario’s A6G and John Gove’s Mistral Spyder were also present both attracting much interest. Sir Jack Brabham was the guest of honour and did a lap of honour in Andrew Cannon’s 150S much to the delight of the crowd.
